Built for the job, not the brochure
The shikara is one of the few boats people travel specifically to sit in, and an engine has always been the wrong thing to put in it. The e-Shikara-8 carries eight passengers on electric drive: no vibration, no exhaust, and none of the noise that competes with the water. The form keeps deliberately Indian lines and the interior is fitted for a long, slow ride — storage for refreshments, an icebox, music and WiFi — with six hours of endurance behind it.
